The Liberia Institute of Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS) was established by the statistical Act of 2004, its mission is to perform the following among others:

• Collect, process and custodian of statistical and spatial data,
• Analyse and dissemination of statistical and spatial data,
• Coordinate training programmes for statistical personel in the national Statistical system(NSS),
• Coordinate, harmonize and Standardize of statistical methodologies as well as validation of data produced in the NSS,
• Monitoring and evaluation of the PRS and the MDGs impact, etc.
